Abstract
The present study examines the process of students' transition from being a researcher to being a research leader in order to achieve the goals of the second step of the Islamic Revolution. Based on the qualitative research method and content analysis of related texts, a conceptual model of this transition has been designed that introduces four stages of research and leadership growth of students, including basic researcher, active and participatory researcher, advanced researcher and initial leader, and research leader. The findings show that the development of individual skills including self-confidence, emotional intelligence and self-management, strengthening communication and team skills, practical experience and participation in research projects, selection and application of leadership styles appropriate to the situation, and continuous guidance from instructors are the main pillars of this transition. Also, the model expresses the complex interaction between these components that facilitates the gradual growth of students and their readiness to play independent and influential research roles. Creating a research culture, structural empowerment, and systematic support from academic institutions are other key elements in realizing this process. This model can be used as a practical guide for policymakers, administrators, and academic educators in training the country's future research leaders and enhancing the scientific standing of higher education institutions.
